Countryside

Having been born and raised in the countryside I have a deep connection to and love of the variety and beauty the British landscape has to offer. Like many people who moved to London to work, or for the excitement and bright lights that a big city environment provides, i always retained that need to go back to my roots to escape the hustle and bustle and find refuge in quieter and more natural surroundings. That desire to engage with nature and the landscape, whether it be by the sea, in the fields and hedgerows and the woodlands and forests, or roaming the hills and peaks is something deeply ingrained in my character, and i am at my happiest when exploring the countryside with my camera. Photography has led to a deeper appreciation and understanding of the natural world, and has given me the motivation to get out and explore when i might not normally have wanted to , but for me the most important thing is simply to be out and enjoying the landscape regardless of whether i get an image or not.
